My 6 year old is mad about science. Each Christmas a family member or two buys him a science kit, each library trip results in a handful of science discovery books and more times than not we are having a discussion in our house about the reaction of things. He LOVES science! I can relate; I too loved science as a kid. There's something about making things that explode, sizzle or change colour that can just be so much fun for a kid.

And so I am happy to bring you these two science-related activities: build a volcano and get in the kitchen for the science of baking and this easy recipe for Monkey Bread. Then check out these science titles from Netfix to inspire your little scientists.

Build a Volcano ... and watch it explode. This is a fun rainy day activity that will intrigue all kids.

Get in the kitchen and enjoy the science of baking: measuring and exploring what a few ingredients mixed together can create. Cinnamon Bun Monkey Bread.

And check out these science-inspired titles for an afternoon of exploration.
