Recently, my family and I were given the chance to preview a brand new Netflix series, All Hail King Julien. It features the love-able character, King Julien, from the Madagascar series of movies and of course that music my kids and I love (we like to move it - move it). We got the chance to decorate the house, wear party hats, watch the preview and eat pizza ... just like it was 2015! (and have a dance party afterwards).

The show is clever, cute and kept my kids glued to the television during each episode -- we watched the first together and then my oldest may have binge-watched the remaining over the next few days. I liked it for the humour, but mostly, I loved spending time with my kids.

A Netflix viewing party is actually a great way to spend time together as a family over the holidays. You can get together to decorate the house, whip up a few sweet treats (or a mocktail like the recipe below), snacks and your own pizza (or order from Boston Pizza like we did). Whether it is New Year's Eve and you want something fun to do indoors, or any night over the holidays. Get the kids to draw their favourite characters or make different crafts that show off their creative side. It is fun experiences like these that the kids really remember.

It was the last few days of school and my son (aged 6) had show-and-tell. He knows he is not allowed to bring toys but he brought something even better. He brought his King Julien party hat and balloon and he talked with the kids about how much fun he had having a pizza party with his parents, his brother and sister, while watching a really cool show on Netflix.

Get ready to move it, move it -- on Dec. 19 the first five episodes of All Hail King Julien a totally original, totally hilarious and totally insane new series, arrived on Netflix. A favourite character from the Madagascar franchise, King Julien will take on the jungle's craziest adventures in the new comedy series, along with his loyal sidekicks Maurice and Mort plus a whole new cast of colourful animals.
