As soon as the first frost hits, you know cold season is upon us. Kids stay inside more, they cough on things and each other and you know it’s just a matter of time before they come home with the sniffles…and pass them along to the rest of the family. With four kids that means the sniffles, a cold or even the flu could be passed around for weeks in our house and who has time for that?  Here are three things that are always with us and that work well for our family during cold and flu season.

(This is our usual set when a cold or flu hits our house, water bottle, humidifier, barf bowl, and Royale®)

Hydrate -

It’s important to keep everyone in the family hydrated throughout the year, but like in the summer where my kids are out in the heat and need to drink more water I find the winter can be similar. Each of my kids has their own water bottle that we are sure to fill up in the morning and they can refill it at school as well. When there is a cold or flu going through the school or our house, we also take those water bottles to bed and plug in a humidifier in each child’s bedroom. I find if they are well hydrated that even if they do come down with a cold or the flu that they bounce back far more quickly if they stay hydrated.

(Last winter Scarlett’s nose wouldn’t stop running, so she got creative!)

Stop the Red Nose -

If you have had a child attend day care you know that the very first thing every child brings home is the day care runny nose. It’s hard to see your little one sniffle and constantly wipe their sore red nose, usually on their sleeve or worse you! We keep ROYALE® 3-Ply Facial Tissue handy all over our house, in my purse and even in the car. That way I can toss one to anyone in need and save my sleeve.

Stock up -

When a cold or the flu really hits our house it makes it much easier to get through it if you are prepared. I always have homemade soup on hand in the freezer, barf bowls and old towels ready and ROYALE® 3-Ply Facial Tissue in the kitchen, all of our bathrooms, in  each of our bedrooms, and extra on hand just in case. When you’re feeling under the weather, you can rely on the strength of kitten soft ROYALE® 3-Ply Facial Tissues to add comfort to every situation.

Cold and flu are coming, but having these things always with you will help you and your family get through it hopefully faster and in more comfort.
