BIO:

Greg May

Greg was born and raised on a farm in Muskoka Ontario. He came to Toronto as an adult with the hope of becoming a police officer. Instead he ventured into the Fashion Industry, studying Image Consulting at Sheridan College and then modelling professionally for many years. Wanting to stay within the fashion, Greg became an apprentice at Vidal Sassoon. He quickly moved up the ranks from Junior Stylist to Senior Stylist to Creative Director. In 1996 he moved to 94 Avenue Road, where he worked for 4 years before becoming a partner in the newly named Glo Salon. In November 2003, Greg took the leap and opened his own salon. Greg has three passions in life: art of architectural hair design, martial arts and his family. He is Dad to three.

10 QUESTIONS:

Describe your career and life in a few words.

As Bruce Lee once said "I am an artist of life." Martial Arts has been a big part of my life, and so has hair. There is a very strong correlation between the two.

Finish this sentence: Its 5 o'clock and I am ...

Almost halfway through my day.

What's the parent-motto you live by?

"Never give up. Never surrender.".....Or maybe  "Happy Wife, Happy Life."

Who's your favourite model parent? Why?

Next to my Wife, I would have to say my own Mother and Father. They were artists and builders. They came here from Europe with nothing and made a life for me. Without them I wouldn't be who I am today.

Name your favourite kid-welcoming hangout?

The park across the Street. It doesn't cost anything, and the kids get fresh air and excercise. After that I would say Mcdonalds, NEB's (in North Oshawa), Fantasy Fair (Woodbine Mall), Kidszone(Whitby) and Pacific Mall (Steeles & Kennedy) and Chuck E. Cheese. Those were all answered by my kids.

Think back to your baby and diaper bag days, what was the one piece of gear that was always good to go?

You can never have enough wipes.

If CSI poured over your diaper bag what profile would they build?

Well, between my wife and myself they would probably piece together by books in the bag, that someone is a very entrepeneurial business-person (wife) who is well versed in Martial Arts (me), lives and breathes hair and scissors (me). Is hopped up on Coca-Cola (wife) and our
kids go through a lot of cool looking diapers.

What is your biggest on-the-go pet peeve?

Commuters who shouldn't have a license.

Whats your number one piece of advice for new parents?

"Never give up. Never surrender. "Spend as much time as you can with your children. Show and teach them everything you can. Be patient. Tell them you love them, and you are proud of them every day.
