Since becoming a mom, my beauty routine has taken a real nose dive. Total confession time: I shower at night now because with three kids to get dressed and out the door in the mornings, I don’t even have time to cleanse properly. Who’s with me?

So what is beauty about than, if not being able to sweep on the perfect purple shadow before a playdate at the park - or slap on some beautiful red lipstick before your husband walks in the door at dinnertime? Because if it were about well-manicured toenails, well I wouldn’t be winning any awards. With the change in my routine, hello children, so comes the change in my perception of what makes me beautiful - us all beautiful.

Beauty is a feeling. You know, when your husband glances over at you with that look in his eyes? When your baby blinks baby blues or deep browns at you and you sense that you are the only person that she truly sees. Beauty is hitting the town with your girlfriends wearing high heels and a nursing top. And its just feeling damn good about yourself after a sweaty run, or nailing a yoga move you never thought you could. Beauty is carving out some time to yourself to soak in a warm tub, get a facial at the spa, or head to the make-up counter for some advice, attention and a little update. Not because you need red lipstick or black eyeliner to look good, but because it feels good to be pampered; the only head that needs to turn when you are all done, is yours.

Shoppers Drug Mart is offering women free 5-minute makeovers as part of their 30 Days of Beauty event (the biggest beauty event of the year). You can spare 5-minutes! And you don’t even need to do this for a special occasion because today is an occasion. Maybe it’s the first time your daughter pees on the potty or the last time your son wears training wheels on his bike. Or maybe just simply today is the day you went shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart by yourself, and was away from your newborn baby.

And for those of you who want to keep the good feelings going (and have some time), Shoppers Drug Mart’s 4th annual national event includes instructional how-to’s in-store and online for recreating some pretty hot beauty looks. There is daily excitement in-store, including 1-day only offers as well as campaign offers on your favourite brands. And this fun offer: from August 23 - August 29, when you spend $75 or more on cosmetics, skin care or fragrance, you receive an exclusive gift: A cosmetic pouch filled with over 25 beauty and fragrance samples. Fabulous and free.

Visit 30daysofbeauty.ca for ONE day only offers everyday during the campaign, which runs from now until September 14. There are 30 Days of Beauty looks for all to enjoy!

Tell us, how has your beauty routine changed since becoming a parent? Has this changed your perception of beauty? Do you love to get pampered?
