Step 2 - Bath

A nightly bath is relaxing and calming no matter how old you are, so it works beautifully for babies too and it helps them sleep better as well.  It doesn't need to be a long bath but do make sure the water is comfortably warm. I find baby bath thermometers tend to set the water temperature a little on the chilly side and then babies cry and parents think their baby hate the bath.
