Moms Should Not Post These Things Online
The Internet is great for finding advice, inspiration, and community. But it can also be a dangerous place for kids. It’s easy to accidentally post something they shouldn’t see or make them feel uncomfortable.
And when you’re talking about kids and the Internet, there are some things that parents should never post online.
Anything with blood
Anything with blood is a big no-no. If you’ve ever taken pictures of your kids, you know how precious they are. Don’t forget that when you post them online. You may think it’s funny, but it can be hurtful to people who don’t know the circumstances behind the picture.
Tacky jokes about your kid
Don’t make fun of your kids, no matter how naive it may seem, especially on social media or blogs. Other people will always have something to say (including strangers). You might also accidentally put your child in an uncomfortable position if the post has gone viral.
Once it is out there, it will be hard to delete all traces of the jokes, and they might remain visible even after several years, and your kids have gotten older. What you once thought was fun might cause your children to get bullied by those who recognize them.
Nude photos of your kids
Don’t ever share nude photos of your children on social media unless they’re old enough to understand why they’re being posted and why it’s not okay. The Internet is full of lurking predators, and the last thing you want to happen is for your kid to become a victim.
